Un altra performance di altissimo livello per Drew Ruana che riesce nella prima ripetizione di "The Ice Knife (sit-start)" 8C+.
Sono stati necessari ben 9 anni per vedere la seconda salita del blocco aperto da Daniel Woods nell'area di Guanella Pass.
Per Drew il suo più difficile boulder di sempre, per il quale sono stati necessari 35 giorni di tentativi.
Dave Graham aveva aperto "The Ice Knife", la versione originaria, con partenza in piedi, nel 2011. Due anni dopo Daniel Woods riusciva nella partenza da seduto, aggiungendo 5 movimenti valutabili intorno ad 8B.
"The Ice Knife sit, V16/8C+ second ascent
First sent by @dawoods89 in fall 2013 (I think?) this rig has sat unrepeated for nearly a decade. While the stand was starting to get more and more traffic recently the sit remained elusive. Adding a weird, tweaky 5 move v13 sequence to the stand start, the sit adds much more depth and complexity to the already brutal stand. This is the longest time it’s taken me to send a boulder (yet) and after 35ish days I was incredibly stoked to stand on top of by far my hardest yet."
