Daniel ci scrive anche le sue impressioni sulla recente visita a Varazze, con l'intento di tornarvi prossimamente.
I arrived to Varazze on April 3, and met up with Christian and Stella. They are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and allowed Courtney and I to stay at their home. Christian showed us around his playground; Varazze. The style of climbing here is very physical on incut crimps. The style of rock changes as well depending on where you go. I was fortunate enough to try "Gioia" on my first day arriving. I was able to complete the stand start, but the sit was another level. To me the problem breaks down into a 8B+ intro into the stand. The stand alone is a 8A+. I was able to complete all the sit moves, but needed the conditions to be a little cooler. They ranged from 20 to 25C and I like it when it is 5C outside. My plan is to return back in August, where Courtney and I will be living outside of Varazze for a year. I am really looking forward to being able to climb with Christian. He has a very positive view on life and had a guerilla strength on rock. This next year should be full of good times.
