Seconda prova della World Cup 2025 a Curitiba (BRA).

Sorato Anraku ha la meglio ancora una volta. Sui quattro boulders, di altissima difficoltà, solo lui e Mejdi Schalck, riescono a chiuderne due. Sorato però prevale per una zona di vantaggio.
Il terzo posto di Tomoa Narasaki con 4 zone e nessun Top testimonia il livello elevatissimo dei tracciati.

Donne:
Lotta fino all'ultimo tentativo tra le francesi Oriane Bertone e Naïlé Meignan, entrambe con 4 blocchi risolti. Quest'ultima riesce a salire flash il blocco finale (oltre il 2° e il 3°) e per un solo tentativo di differenza supera la connazionale, vincendo la sua prima gara di Coppa del Mondo.
Grande prova per Camilla Moroni che, pur non riuscendo a chiudere il primo passaggio, tira fuori tutta la sua grinta e realizza i successivi tre Top (flash sull'ultimo), aggiudicandosi la terza posizione.

"Brain rot 8C+/V16 - First Ascent.
Amazing Magic wood line @dave_graham_ showed us on our short stop there between the rain. Basically just a three move crimp bloc which is all about finding the tension, into a chill top out.
Grade wise it’s definitely far harder than any of the 8B+’s I’ve done this trip and suits me well so Im sure it’s either 8C or 8C+. I decided to go for the plus but time will tell"

In Val Bavona apre "Kyanite" 8C.

Hamish McArthur in super forma realizza il suo secondo 9A: "No One Mourns the Wicked" blocco aperto da Nathaniel Coleman nell'area di Thunder Ridge alla fine dello scorso anno.

Stupefacente la velocità nel risolverlo: ad Hamish è bastata una sola sessione per ritrovarsi in cima al boulder!

Dopo aver risolto la 'versione stand' "Defying Gravity" (8C), è stata sufficiente poco più di 1 ora per completare l'opera...

Primo 8B per Andrea Kümin che, in Norvegia, nell'area di Sirevåg, riesce a risolvere "Tuataket", blocco fisico in forte strapiombo.

"Tuataket 8B - the process
Tua – what a nice place. Smooth, polished rocks, lush green meadows, and the vast ocean in the background. And right in the middle of it all: Tuataket. Broken off from a cliff, but luckily still half suspended in the air. A roughly 70-degree steep roof, crossed by diagonal crack lines. Open holds, slots, crimps – some sharp, but most of them pleasantly textured. Tuataket is a physical boulder that demands power and a lot of body tension. The final move is dynamic and requires full commitment."

Andrea ha al suo attivo svariati 8A+ e 8A. Tra i più recenti troviamo "Moonwalk" (video), anch'esso situato in Norvegia, a Vesterøya.

In precedenza, di passaggio a Fontainebleau, aveva aggiunto al suo carnet i 'Big Five' (video) ("Big Boss", "Fourmis Rouges", "Tristesse", "Big Golden" e "Atrésie") e lo storico blocco "C'était demain" (video), il primo 8A della foresta, aperto da Jacky Godoffe nel 1984.

Primo boulder di 9A per Hamish McArthur che nell' Eldorado Canyon viene a capo di "Megatron", sequenza estrema di 17 movimenti.

Il blocco, aperto da Shawn Raboutou nel 2022 non era finora stato ripetuto. Hamish ci riesce in sole 5 sessioni (cadendo ben 7 volte al top nel giorno della salita definitiva). Una performance eccezionale, visti anche i numerosi tentativi infruttuosi di altri top climbers quali Daniel Woods e Drew Ruana.

"So, 5 sessions total - but I don’t want to see climbing as a purely efficiency problem. I want it to be about depth and appreciation instead of how quickly you can get into and out of."

In precedenza Hamish aveva risolto blocchi fino al 8C+, con la salita di "Big Z", effettuata nel dicembre 2024.

Katie Lamb si conferma al top nel bouldering con la salita di "The Dark Side", il blocco più duro di Yosemite, primo 8C+ risolto da una donna.

Oltre alla prima femminile (FFA) realizza la quarta ascensione in assoluto, dopo quelle di Carlo Traversi, Aidan Roberts e Keenan Takahashi.

Katie aveva risolto un altro boulder estremo nel 2003: "Box Therapy", allora valutato 8C+, ma successivamente proposto come 8C dopo le salite di Brooke Raboutou e Shawn Raboutou

Una giornata molto proficua in Zillertal per Karoline Sinnhuber, la quale risolve "The Restless Mind" 8B e altri due difficili passaggi: "Mother Firestarter" 8A e "No lazy tendons" 8A+

"Yesterday, I probably had my best climbing day ever. Statting the day with sending ‚No lazy tendons’ 8A+ at Ginzling, afterwards topping this one in Zillergrund with a super wet topout and to put the cherry on top, I finished the day with ‚Mother Firestarter‘ 8A."

Eli Perry realizza il suo primo 8C+ con la salita di "Grand Illusion", lungo boulder in forte strapiombo di Little Cottonwood Canyon.

The last couple years I’ve been working my way down from all the different starts on this boulder, yesterday I managed to send the full line. So many good days spent up lcc climbing on this bloc, definitely feels a little bittersweet finishing it up."

Eli ha all'attivo anche due 8C: "Sound of Violence" (2024) e "Pegasus" (2025), entrambi situati a Joe's Valley.

Aidan Roberts riesce nella prima ripetizione di "The Dark Side", il blocco più duro di Yosemite, aperto da Carlo Traversi nel 2023 e valutato 8C+.

Il passaggio, situato sul boulder percorso dai famosi "The Force" e "Thriller", presenta una serie di movimenti non intrinsecamente difficilissimi, ma sui quali è richiesta estrema precisione e tecnica. Secondo Aidan una sorta di 'puzzle strategico'.
