Nicolai Užnik apre un nuovo passaggio estremo a Chironico. Aggiungendo due difficili movimenti in sit-start a "Forgotten Gem", realizza "Full Gem", per il quale propone la valutazione di 8C+.

I did “Forgotten Gem” almost exactly a year ago and in the same session started working on the sit start. It adds a couple of quite basic but hard moves that make the whole line significantly harder."

A Scharfenstein, in Germania, Stefan Hochbaum apre "Mind Flayer", una nuova linea di 8C.

Nella stessa area, nel febbraio 2025, Stefan aveva aperto quello che ancora oggi è il suo blocco più difficile: "Obsidian", per i quale ha proposto la valutazione di 8C+.

A Cresciano nel 2023 realizzava il suo primo 8C: "The Story of Two Worlds".

Dopo essersi aggiudicata la vittoria alla seconda edizione del Royal Rock Rumble a Joshua Tree, Melina Costanza aggiunge un altro blocco di 8B al suo curriculum: "Iron Resolution".

Started 2026 with a trip to Joshua Tree for the Rock Rumble Royale competition. While my comp strategy included ticking a higher number of climbs in the 9-11 range, I stayed a few days after the comp to send this legendary line."

Nuovo passaggio di 8C ad opera di Noah Wheeler che aggiunge un sit-start a "Orb Weaver" (7C+) e realizza "Jorōgumo".

Il boulder è situato nell'area di Haycock, in Pennsylvania (USA)

"Proudest FA. Always thought this climb was legitimately impossible until I came back this year with a honed body and mind. Has the sort of holds you would imagine VHards must have had when you were a kid."

Il blocco si svolge su una sequenza di tacche molto piccole, di dimensioni non superiori a un centimetro.

"The holds are tiny - 10mm at the largest. Worse yet, they are flat. Most of the force register on the crux move comes from a 2mm sized opening you have to jam your skin into. It was only until I returned to the boulder this year, with a reshaped perspective and much stronger fingers, that I realized the boulder might be possible."

Up-Climbing segnala l'area boulder di Marco (Lavini di Marco), situata nei pressi di Rovereto, in Trentino Alto Adige.

Allo stato attuale sono recensiti circa 120 massi di calcare per un totale di 300 linee, con ancora notevoli possibilità di sviluppo.

Tra i valorizzatori dell'area una menzione particolare va a Stefano Ghidini e Mario Ruele.

Will Bosi apre il più impegnativo blocco del Portogallo: nell'area di Sintra riesce nella prima salita (FA) di "Pôr do Sol", per il quale propone la valutazione di 8C+.

The perfect start to the year! Sending possibly the best boulder I’ve ever tried. This line was one of the first projects I saw in Portugal and immediately blew my mind that it hadn’t been climbed."

Will lo ritiene probabilmente il più bel boulder da lui risolto finora.

Secondo 8C+ per Simone Tentori che a Brione riesce su "Deep Fake", blocco aperto da Nathan Phillips nel 2024.

"All moves in the first session but then very slow progress with no/very little improvement day after day. Unexpected ascent on my 10th? session. It felt very hard to suggest a difficulty but felt harder than the 8C's I ve done in the previous months."

Già soddisfatto delle sue recenti realizzazioni, Simone non aveva particolare intenzione di dedicarsi ad altri progetti prima di lasciare il Ticino. Senza grandi aspettative, nel suo ultimo giorno nell'area, si ritrova invece a risolvere "Deep Fake", che aveva già provato in passato in una decina di sessioni.

8B+ flash per Noah Wheeler che riesce al primo tentativo nella salita di "Brass Knuckles", blocco aperto da Zach Galla nel 2019 nell'area di Dayton Pocket, in Tennessee.

Noah si conferma come uno de top climbers del momento, con due 9A all'attivo: "Return of the Sleepwalker" e "Shaolin".

Ottima fine del 2025 per Allison Vest che riesce a risolvere "The Expanse", blocco aperto nel 2018 da Matt Fultz a Joe's Valley e inizialmente quotato 8C. Da successive ripetizioni il grado si è poi assestato a 8B+, anche se per le misure di Allison l'impegno richiesto potrebbe realmente valere la valutazione originale di 8C...

Il giorno successivo viene finalmente a capo di un suo vecchio progetto: "The Mantra", 8B+ di Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Due giorni dopo, nella stessa area riesce a risolvere anche "Eclipse Sit", 8B.

Tra i recenti boulders da lei saliti troviamo anche altri due 8B:
"Cyber Bully" (Little Cottonwood Canyon) e "Reflecting Pool" (Red Rocks).
